There’s something different about a sunrise elopement. The world is quiet, the air is cool, and it feels like you get Sedona all to yourselves. Lee and Adam chose that exact kind of magic for their wedding day — a sunrise “just us” ceremony on the Baby Bell trail.
Sunrise at Baby Bell
We started hiking in the blue hour — that calm, pre-dawn glow when the desert is still half-asleep. By the time we reached the Baby Bell overlook, the horizon had begun to burn orange behind Cathedral Rock. It was unreal.
Lee and Adam tucked into their private little nook on the slickrock and exchanged vows as the first light hit the cliffs. No crowds. No noise. Just light, wind, vows, and a few happy tears. That first burst of sun over Sedona felt like it was for them.
Portraits at Secret Slickrock
After rings we made our way to the surrounding red rock landscape for portraits. By then, the red rocks were glowing and the sky was that creamy pastel you only get after sunrise.
They ran, danced, and took in the view like two people who just pulled off the perfect elopement heist — married before most of Sedona even woke up. It was pure joy to photograph.
Why Sunrise Elopements in Sedona Work So Well
-
Crowd-free views — no tour buses, no hikers staring
-
Cooler temps — especially clutch in warmer months
-
Dream lighting — pastel skies into warm golden tones
-
Feels wildly intimate — like you rented the desert for an hour
A Morning Worth Waking Up For
Lee and Adam proved that you don’t need a crowd to make a wedding day feel big. Just two people, a quiet trail, and a sunrise that shows off on cue.
Congratulations, you two — what a way to start a life together.
