Jordan & Rahadi — A June Wedding at the Grand Canyon

There are wedding locations that are beautiful—and then there’s the Grand Canyon. Jordan and Rahadi chose this incredible Arizona landmark for their June wedding, surrounded by sweeping views, endless layers of canyon walls, and one of the most dramatic landscapes anywhere in the world.

It was also great for me to return to the Grand Canyon once again to photograph a wedding. No matter how many times I visit, stepping up to the rim with a camera in hand never gets old—and getting to experience it through the excitement of a couple on their wedding day makes it even better.

A Wedding with a Seriously Epic Backdrop

Jordan and Rahadi’s wedding combined the intimacy of a personal celebration with the enormous scale of the Grand Canyon surrounding them. There’s something pretty amazing about exchanging vows in a place that stretches as far as you can see.

June brings beautiful light and long days to Northern Arizona, giving us plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the changing scenery. As the light moved across the canyon, the colors and textures constantly shifted—from warm earth tones and deep shadows to distant cliffs fading into shades of blue.

And yes, it’s every bit as impressive in person as it looks in the photos!

Exploring the Rim for Wedding Photos

After the ceremony, it was time to explore and have some fun.

One of my favorite things about photographing a Grand Canyon wedding is the incredible variety you can find without needing to travel far. A few steps can completely change the composition—from intimate portraits framed by trees and rock formations to huge, cinematic images where Jordan and Rahadi appear surrounded by miles and miles of canyon.

Those wide-open views are incredible, but some of my favorite photographs are often the quieter moments in between—the laughter, a quick glance at each other, or simply taking a minute together to realize, We just got married at the Grand Canyon!

Why Get Married at the Grand Canyon?

For couples who love nature and want their wedding to feel like an experience as much as an event, the Grand Canyon is hard to beat. It has a sense of scale and adventure that instantly makes the day feel extraordinary, while an intimate wedding allows you to slow down and really experience it.

It’s also a fantastic choice for couples who want wedding photographs that feel timeless. The canyon isn’t simply a backdrop—it becomes part of the story of the day.

Another Amazing Day at the Canyon

Returning to the Grand Canyon to photograph Jordan and Rahadi was a wonderful reminder of why I love photographing weddings throughout Northern Arizona. Every visit is different, every couple brings their own energy, and the canyon seems to reveal something new each time.

Jordan and Rahadi’s June wedding was joyful, adventurous, intimate, and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable.

Congratulations, Jordan and Rahadi! What an incredible place to begin your next adventure together.
