The Bangkok air was hot and humid. Shorts are not allowed in the main temples, so I wore pants out today. I toured the Grand Palace and saw the Emerald Buddha. The place was immense and decorated to the extreme. The crowds made it challenging to get a clean shot and the heat made it tiring. For 500 baht I thought it was a bit expensive.

The next temple was Wat Pho – the Reclining Buddha – one of the largest in the world.

Finally I toured Wat Arun which resides on the other side of the river.

Tonight I decided to check out the Patpong part of Bangkok which is know for it’s walking night market and ping pong shows. If you don’t know what this is, just Google it…but i’m warning you.

I planned to spend the night shopping and loading up on the stuff I didn’t want to carry with me for the last month. I have become quite skilled in the art of negotiation so I think I scored a few good deals. One of the coolest things I bought was a small bluetooth speaker made by Dr. Dre Beats. It was totally cheap and I think is actually legit. It sounds amazing and actually has bass.

I also had a long time plan to get a Thai tattoo and knew that tonight was my last chance. I found a tattoo shop that looked pretty clean and the Thai buddhists were very helpful in the translation and placement of my Sak Yant inscription.
