Koh Tao

When I first arrived to Koh Tao, I was not impressed and missed my open middle island paradise.  This island felt more cramped. But, once fate directed me to my sunset point I really realized the meaning of the “Land of Smiles” that Thailand is famous for.  The locals operating my new bungalow were all that, and more.  Such a friendly and laid back attitude. Easy to chat with and the vibe was relaxed. I knew I was in the right place.  Oh, and I finally have a hot water shower.  Paradise!

To make things better, the big fancy resort up the hill had a super strong WiFi connection and after a “donation” to the night guard for the password, I was in business. best connection in a long time.  Now I can upload the photos I needed to get complete.

Today was spent in the water snorkeling one of the close reefs. I started out early as the water was calm and clear. With my underwater GoPro in hand I set off to explore.

Later that night after eating at a seafood place near the water I was strolling down a street and recognized the German girls that I had met at the halfmoon party on Phangan. We had a few beers at a outdoor area and chatted about all kinds of worldly topics. Everyone was tired so it was an early night to turn in. I have grown to greatly enjoy my scooter rides back to my bungalow in the dark.  The road is often less traveled and if I did not know where I was going I swear I would be lost.  Just the way I like it.
